What is Lenormand?
Lenormand is a deck of 36 cards first printed in Germany around 1800 and named after Marie Anne Lenormand, a famous Paris fortune-teller. In Brazil it’s known as the Baralho Cigano.
Its pictures are plain, a Rider, a Ring, a Key, and they’re read in pairs and lines, like words in a sentence. In a line of five, the middle card is the heart of the matter; the cards before it show where things come from, the cards after it where they’re heading.
The Moon & Tao deck
