A Chinese name with meaning
Coming soon. We’re building two naming services: Chinese names for children who have already been born, and Chinese names for adults who’d like one of their own.
Meaning you’re proud to explain
Every name comes with what each character means, in English and in Chinese.
How it sounds
We check how the name reads in Mandarin and look for obvious unfortunate sound-alikes. Tell us which dialects matter to your family, and where they’re from, and we’ll say upfront whether we can check them.
The five elements
For a child, characters are weighed against the child’s full BaZi chart. We’re settling the exact method with our practitioner, and it won’t be a simple “add the missing element” rule.
Your family’s choices
Your surname, a generation name (字辈) if your family uses one, and any characters you’d rather avoid.
An English name to go with it
If you’d like one, we suggest English names that sit well alongside the Chinese.
Checked by a person
Before a name reaches you, a Chinese-speaking reviewer checks its meaning, Mandarin pronunciation, common associations and how it sits with your surname.
Children’s names are only for children who have already been born. We’ll never tell you a name can change someone’s fate. A name is a wish and a gift.
Tell me when naming opens
People on the list get first access.
One email when it opens. Nothing else. We never sell your data.
In the meantime, see what your own chart looks like with the free BaZi calculator.
